เด็กหนุ่มชื่อ มาชิโระ โมริทากะ อายุ 14 ปี เป็นเด็กมัธยมต้นปีที่ 3 สุดแสนจะธรรมดา ใช้ชีวิตไปวันๆ ไม่มีความฝันใดๆ แอบชอบผู้หญิงที่ชื่ออาซึกิ มิโฮะ เด็กผู้หญิงที่เคยพบสมัยประถม และได้มาเข้าโรงเรียนเดียวกันในชั้นมัธยมต้น ซึ่งก็ไม่คิดจะสารภาพรัก เพราะคิดว่าถึงสารภาพรักไปก็คงต้องแห้วอยู่ดี ปล่อยให้เป็นไปอย่างนี้ดีกว่า มีอยู่วันหนึ่งที่โรงเรียนให้เรียนแค่ครึ่งวันเพราะว่าใกล้สอบ เลยปล่อยให้นักเรียนกลับบ้านไปอ่านหนังสือ แต่ว่ามาชิโระกลับลืมสมุดจดไว้ที่โรงเรียน และในนั้นเขาได้วาดรูปของ อาซึกิ ไว้ด้วย เลยกลัวว่าจะมีคนมาเจอ เลยกลับมาเอา และได้พบกับทาคากิ อาคิโตะ เพื่อนร่วมห้องที่เป็นอัจฉริยะ สอบได้อันดับหนึ่งของโรงเรียนได้ถือสมุดของเขาอยู่ ทำให้เขาตกใจว่าทาคากิ ต้องรู้แล้วว่าเขาชอบอาซึกิ มาชิโระเลยขอสมุดคืน โดยที่ทาคากิบอกว่าต้องมีข้อแลกเปลี่ยน โดยการจับมือเขียนการ์ตูนกับเขา มาชิโระจึงตกใจมากเพราะไม่คิดว่า เด็กที่เรียนเก่งอย่างทาคากิ จะฝันอยากเป็นนักเขียนการ์ตูน
